Change your small kitchen layout with design ideas

September 3rd, 2009

A small kitchen is defined by the National Kitchen and Bath Association as a space measuring 150sq feet. These spaces are a challenge for the designer in terms of
storage and working space. To make the most of the little space a few small changes can make the room look and have more space.Try using light colors for the cabinets with glass doors. Add sensible hardware that fits the size of the room and the decor. There is a lot of choice when it comes to cabinet hardware like frosted glass, acrylic door knobs, ceramic collection of cabinet hardware. Look for Amber or frosted glass door knobs and pulls from the Amerock Company which come with a brass base or go for a more stylish look with the Carol Beachs collection which comes in the form of flowers and Pear knobs or palm or coconut pulls made from colored resin or
colored metal.

If you like antiques then try using antique reproduction glass hardware.Laying out the tiles in a diagonal fashion can give the room a larger look. Bright lights
and light colors like white also give an illusion of space. Small space saving appliances like refrigerators and ovens are a sensible choice for such a small space. Try using an island which is a practical solution for an eat-in as well as for extra storage space.
